“We are always in a perpetual state of being created and creating ourselves”
- Daniel J Siegel
Starting therapy can feel like a significant step towards the unknown. Often, people come to therapy when something in life feels too heavy to carry alone; a meaningful loss, a major life change, or when past experiences begin to affect the present in unexpected ways.
Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin to reconnect with yourself and the many different parts of you, in a way that makes sense. Together, we can explore what’s been holding you back, nurture a deeper understanding of your experiences, and support you in healing your whole self, at your own pace.
Core Values.
-
Connection
At the end of the day, the foundation of psychological therapy is human connection. In therapy, we aim to create a space that is safe, brave, open, and honest, with the hope that these conditions allow for great change, acceptance, and growth.
-
Inclusivity
All are welcome here. Specifically, each person as a whole, and all of the different parts that make up that person, are welcome here. Therapy is a space to show up and be seen, with agency and consent at the forefront.
-
Wholeness
To truly understand someone, we need to understand not only their internal experience, but the external systems they belong to, and the broader world they exist in.

So, why therapy?
When it comes to healing, there are so many things that can be useful, therapy is just one of them.
Officially, psychological therapy has been found to reduce symptoms in the long-term related to a wide number of common mental health issues, including (but not limited to) Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, and Anxiety Disorders.
You don’t however, require any of these diagnoses to engage in, or benefit from therapy. Therapy can also be helpful for people navigating the inevitable challenges and turbulence that life often presents us with, and many people will return to therapy at different times throughout their lives when they feel they need that extra bit of support.
The Bio-Psycho-Social Model of health sees healing as a journey that involves the whole person. It recognises that our biology (like genetics, brain chemistry, or physical health), our psychology (thoughts, emotions, coping strategies), and our social world (relationships, community, and environment) all interact to shape our wellbeing. By considering these three areas together, we can better understand challenges and find balanced, personalised ways to support growth, resilience, and lasting change.
As such, psychological therapy is only one piece of the puzzle, but it may very well be the piece that helps guide you in the direction of the others.
